/uses
/uses is one of many Slash pages that people add to their websites. This is mine!
It's a living list of the hardware and software I use on a regular basis to get stuff done.

Hardware
Computing machines
- Laptop: MacBook Pro 14", with the M1 Pro. It's an incredible machine that I've had since 2022 and still as buttery smooth as ever (even if MacOS 26 is kinda shit)
- Phone: iPhone 15 Pro, titanium color (the only correct color for this model)
On my desk (or near it)
- Keyboard: Logitech MX Mechanical Mini. The only mechanical keyboard I've ever had, apparently it's a bad one, but I'm really happy with it.
- Mouse: Logi MX Vertical. Probably my best tech purchase ever. A vertical mouse got rid of any wrist pains I've experienced in the past. Other brands are probably good too, I just happened to get this one. I'm using BetterTouchTool to get rid of the atrocious Logi Options+ app.
- Monitor: AOC CU34V5CW, a 34" curved ultrawide 1440p monitor, with a built-in webcam. I've tried both ultrawides and two separate monitors, but this one hits the sweet spot for me. I like that it also functions as a USB-C dock, which means I can plug only one cable from my laptop to the monitor and have it both send over the image and power the laptop.
- Headphones: I use the Sony WH-XM4s for music in the office, and the AirPods Pro 2 for calls and outside use. Both are incredible, though the AirPods' noise cancelling keeps getting progressively worse.
- Chair: SIHOO M57, nothing fancy but does the job of being comfortable and not giving me back pain after using it all day.
- Fan: I got this Dreo Nomad One tower fan and it's fantastic. Suuuper quiet and efficient, plus it's much more compact than a regular fan.
Gaming
- Consoles: I got a Nintendo Switch and a PS5 Slim, and sometimes play games on my MacBook.
Software
The apps I choose to use for the vast majority of my daily activities on my Mac and iPhone.
Productivity
- ๐ง Mail (service & client): Fastmail โ I used to use Apple Mail but got tired of its unreliability. Fastmail's iOS app and web client on desktop are close to perfect, really.
- ๐ Calendar: BusyCal โ More reliable than Apple Calendar and I love the "Current & Upcoming" widget on iOS. Since it's included in Setapp, it's a no-brainer.
- โ Tasks: TickTick
- ๐ Notes: Obsidian
- ๐ธ Budgeting: YNAB
Web & Reading
- ๐ Web browser: Vivaldi on Mac. On the iPhone, I use a mix of Vivaldi and Orion โ I wrote extensively about my migration from Arc to Vivaldi on the desktop. On mobile, Vivaldi is not as appealing, so Orion scratches my need for simpler navigation when I just need to do a quick search.
- ๐ Search: Kagi, which I wrote a bit about.
- ๐ฐ RSS Reader: Readwise Reader. I tried some other readers but always come back to this one. It's expensive, but the experience is top-notch.
Development
- ๐งฎ Code Editor: Windsurf/Devin โ It's VS Code, but with better integrated AI features. I'm honestly not too happy with this one, and think it will die out soon. Looking for alternatives.
